Nationals getting closer and closer..

Posted by Anna on February 24, 2010 at 3:54 AM Comments comments (0)

Only a week left for the Swedish nationals in Karlstad! This weekend I will be heading for Hallsberg for a camp. The camp is for the girls in our district in the age of 13-16 and I will help them with their technique and share my experiences. I will also compete on sunday in Karlskoga, the last competition before the nationals.

My trainingbow has arrived and I hope to recieve a little help from Marcus Lagneholt with the tuning. Check out his webbsite in "Links". You can also look at "Calender" to see where I'll be during the coming months.

The flight is set for Luleå first weekend in April, 6-7th. I will live in a little cottage along with 3 other archers. Hopefully I will shoot with the new bow, WinWin CXT. I look very much forward to it!

Time to study now!

Trainingcamp with the nationalteam

Posted by Anna on January 31, 2010 at 12:01 PM Comments comments (0)

It's been a busy month filled with competitions and training. I went to Eskilstuna friday the 29th for a camp with the junior nationalteam in compound and recurve. I shot about 600-700 arrows so now my fingers are quite sore. There were many good coaches there, Isabell Danielsson, Leif Danielsson, Erik Larsson, Gullimar Åkerlund, Ingrid Olofsson and Jari Hjerpe. We shot finals, qualifications and team competitions. Some of us tuned their bow or worked on the technique. Gullimar helped me with my release and we decided that he is going to visit me and shoot some more with me.

I am really tired right now but I have to do some homework, so I will update later :)

Nimes was GREAT!

Now I'm back home from Nimes. I shot the qualification round last friday and ended up as number 19, which meant that I didn't make it to the primary tournament, sadly. I'äve been struggeling with "mental issues" which has made me shoot a miss at a few competitions now. In Nimes I spoke to Allister Whittingham who is going to help me get through this. It is now going to be easy, but I promise myself that I will make it and become unstoppable!

I also spoke to Mr Choi, from Winwin. We have had contact by mail and I told him that I really wanted to try one of his Winwin bows. I tried Marcus Lagneholt's bow a few weeks ago, an Apecs. I loved it and when I was going to Nimes I had my mind set for an Apecs instead of my helix. The helix is good, but I think it's too heavy for me and the grip doesn't quite fit me. With the Apecs everything just fell in place! A wonderful feeling! Mr Choi didn't have the Apecs for me to try, instead I tried the new Inno.. And I fell in love. He told me that he will send me a new inno as fast as he can, for free. And I will buy the new inno EX prime :)

Thanks very much to both Allister and Mr Choi who are very helpful, it means very very much to me! Thank you!

Nimes is getting closer..!

Posted by Anna on January 19, 2010 at 10:24 AM Comments comments (1)

After yesterdays training with my coach Tomas Johansson everything feels very good! He always knows what to say so that I'll shoot even better. Today's training went well, I shot about 50 arrows since I want to take it easy before going to Nimes. I'm going to Uppsala to visit Malin Wallin tomorrow. She is going to be my room mate in Nimes as well as Dave and Jenny. So there are a lot of things that I need to do tonight, check the arrows, check that I've packed everything and that everything is okay. I'm going to exercise soon in Friskis & Svettis. A swedish exercise "club" where I go to gym and to do other physical exercises. It's like my second home, next to the archery hall and my real home. I relly LOVE to exersise! And it is good for my shooting, the stronger the better ;)

That's all for now, I need to go and get my jersey since it's so cold here in Sweden.. Or maybe it's spring-weather now, just 10 minus degrees?

See you later!

Hello everybody!

I'd like to introduce myself briefly since this is my first News Entry.

My name is Anna and I live in Sweden, Västerås. The reason why I got this site is to show pictures and results from the archery competitions that I enter. I began to shoot barebow in 2003 but switched to recurve in november 2005. In 2006 I entered the Swedish junior national team and got to shoot my first international tournament in 2007, the indoor world champs in Turkey! it was a great experience and my goal is to win the Olympic gold someday.

You can find more information about me in "ABOUT ME". Stay and check out my webpage! ;D
